Montessori School Orientation
Max starts his orientation at Montessori school tomorrow. He'll be there for 90 minutes the next three days to get used to the classroom and his new classmates. It's hard to believe that our little guy is already going to school. This week will be his last week with our caregiver, Heather Parent. Max is a little sad and a little scared of the change but we (Heather included) think this is a good thing for Max. He's the kind of kid that will go as far as he his challenged and he's not being challenged at care any more.
Thanks, Heather, for taking such good care of our boy.

Amersfoort
When I was doing my European tour in '95, I ending staying with my second cousins in Amersfoort which is about an hour from Zutphen. Here we are again, 12 years later.

Amersfoort is another old formerly walled city and has two rings of canals inside the wall.

Trying on some chain mail. This things was about 4-5 pounds.

The Arrival of Henry and Becky
Henry and Becky joined us the tuesday of our second week.
Henry with cousin Max.

A gorgeous picture.

Our neighbors have a baby thats 2 weeks younger than Henry. Her name is Liv and I think Henry took a fancy to her.

Max and I with bed head.

The star of our family.

Zutphen at Night.
One night, I packed the mini-tripod and the camera on my bike and took some night pictures. One in three of the pictures turned out but I think these are pretty nice.

Scheveningnen
About 15 minutes from downtown Den Haag is the beach-side town of Scheveningnen. I dare you to try to pronounce that. Pete's been living in Den Haag for 6 years and still can't get the pronunciation right. Like English, in Dutch, you sometimes just don't pronounce some of the letters. I think that Scheveningnen would look more like "Shevin", if you take out all the letters that aren't pronounce. And yes, of course, I'm exaggerating.

Max taking a dip in the North sea. It wasn't as cold as it looks.

Max's first merry-go-round ride.

A beautiful sunset. Not unlike Grand Bend.

As usual...

A cute picture of Max and Papa.

Some sculptures along the boardwalk. Quite unlike Grand Bend.

Did I mention the bikes in Holland?

Back In Canada
We arrived in Stratford at 8:00 PM after 18 hours of travel. Our luggage arrived today around 1:00 PM. I'll post some more pictures soon but for now, we're mainly recovering from the jetlag and being back to work.

More Den Haag
This is a series of pictures of Max running through a fountain outside our hotel in Den Haag. The weather was perfect and the light made for some wonderful photographs.
Things started out slowly.

Then Sarah and I agree that Max needs to play in this water.

Surveying the fountain. Planning the attack.

Running...

...more running. That´s our hotel in the background.

Max doing his "I own this fountain"pose.

Reporting in. Yep. I think I ran through every part of it.

The best part of being wet is getting others wet.

Coming after me...
"
This picture says it all.

The elevator ride back to the hotel room.

Here are some other pix that were too awesome not to post.
