First Family Bike Ride

It was a gorgeous (21 degrees and sunny) day yesterday so I left work a few hours early and went for a jog around the river, picked Max up early and got Max's tricycle out of the basement. We went for a short bike ride and then it was off to swimming lessons. Max swims by himself for the most part so the lesson is pretty much lost on him. After dinner, we had the first family bike ride to the mailbox to pick up the mail.

A trip to Ottawa

We packed up the family and drove up to Ottawa last week. The drive was a little bit easier this time with the help of the newly purchased in-car DVD player. He watched Shrek 2, The Mikado and various Baby Einstein videos. Once we got there, we swam almost every day at amazing pools. Two of the three that we went to had beach entries and hot tubs and the last one we went to had a decent sized slide. We spent the week swimming, and eating and touring various museums in Ottawa and had a personally guided tour of the Parliament buildings by a friend of ours.

Most of these pictures are from the Children's Museum located inside the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau (formerly Hull).

Some drum playing with Gammy and Mommy.

A ride on the camel.

Hanging out with Yeh-Yeh

Playing with the alway popular cardboard box.

Here we put Max's hat on after swimming. It made his hair curly and generally funny looking. Add the lightened hair from the chlorine in the pools, he doesn't look like himself at all.

Driving the bus. I'll have to post the video of him singing while driving.

More fun with drums.

Naptime. I think he likes this stroller.

Here he actually fell asleep with his face in the tray on the stroller. Yes, I did put him into a more comfortable position... after I took the picture.

New Additions

We have some new additions to the families of my closest engineering friends so we made another trip to Toronto for an overdue visit.

The kids from left to right are Liam, Aidan, Max, Sebastian and Oscar.
That's Mark on the left and Fabian on the right.

This was us two years ago.

The girls Brenda, Sarah and Heather

Same photo 2 years earlier.

I had to put this one up becasue of the expression on Max's face. He's rolling his eyes already!

Mark reading to two of the five boys.

It happened to be Fabians birthday so there was cake for everyone.

Time for a Change

As most of you know, I have resigned from Maplesoft and will be starting at Research in Motion on April 2nd. I had been with Maplesoft for over 7 years and it was time for a change. I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to a whole set of new challenges.
