Busy end of the week.

It turned out to be a pretty busy end to the week starting with Thursday when Max had his orientation with his class at Montesorri school, where he will be starting in September. Usually it takes him 30 minutes to get used to his surroundings but he left Sarah's side after only 4 minutes. Part of the reason for this is that his pal Roma from daycare is also in the class and came over to welcome him.

Friday evening was dinner with Hannah, Thomas, Nana and Papa at the local Chinese buffet followed by swimming at the Festival Inn. For Max, there is nothing more fun than swimming with his cousins.

Saturday Max and I left the house early for "Old Macdonald" AKA Mcdonalds where we had breakfast. Then it was off the the country bulk store to buy grains for the swans and ducks. We then parked the car around the lake and fed swans and ducks for 30-40 minutes. Stratford is such a beautiful place in the summer. Max just loves running along the lake and watching for baby ducks. From there it was on to the park and then to Zehrs to pick up some groceries.

Next stop Grand Bend. We made the drive to Grand Bend because Mary had bought tickets for everyone to see the Drayton Entertainment production of Cats. Max is still a bit young to sit quietly for 2 1/2 hours so he and Sarah spent the afternoon at the beach. Max played on the beach with Sarah for the whole duration of the play and managed to fight off sleep until the car ride home.

Good thing Max slept the whole way back to Stratford because the next event was the neighborhood party organized by our friend Maggie. They had one of those blow up bouncy castles that you can rent from party stores. Max was clearly interested but a bit intimidated. He made it into the castle eventually and loved bouncing around (big surprise). With the firework s show, the party went until almost 11:00, which of course, Max stayed up for.

Sunday was a bit more subdued. We spent the morning putting the new barbeque together and then to Down The Street for lunch. We bumped into our friends Rod, Patty and Sage outside of Family and Company so they joined us for lunch. From there it was back to the house to put on the training wheels for Max's new bike. Yes, he's outgrown his tricycle already. We went for a little ride around the neighborhood, then it was naptime and then dinner at Nana's.

I'm exhausted writing all this up. No wonder why I fell asleep at 8:50 last night.
